Merry Christmas

Posted by Tina

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.” Matthew 1:22-23

May you find Peace in this Season of Joy!

Steven Curtis Chapman

Posted by Tina

I trully admire this man and his faith!!!  I went to his site just a few mins to get a name of a song I want to find and his opening page has a little special something from him.

http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/

“Good Bye. Mr. President.

Whether you voted for him & love him, or you’ve disagreed with all his policies and dislike him… Could we all agree on this? We owe President Bush a sincere thank you. As the historic Inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama approaches, StevenCurtisChapman.com pauses to thank our outgoing President for his service to our great country. This Thanksgiving weekend, we hope you’ll enjoy a new song by Steven written in President Bush’s honor.

Also, Steven and his family would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving through a special video blog! They also have big news to deliver! ”

The info above was taken right from his page…Check it out!

Thankful

Posted by Tina

What I am & am not Thankful for:

Normally I love to talk about the things I am thankful for but the one thing that came out of Thanksgiving this year is the one thing I am not Thankful for…

It’s PUKING

We got a call after we left my parents making sure no one else was sick cause my Dad was getting sick… they also had all 3 kids over night. So we all thought it was his acid reflux acting up because he ate too much because he seemed fine all day yesterday and even came out here to bring the kids home with my mom.

That was till I got a call this morning and it was my sister saying she was super sick. Now normally she wouldn’t call me but she announced at the Dinner table some big news with a shirt “Eating for Two” and she wanted to know if she should call the doc we both go to or if I knew what they’d say. So I walked her through what they told me the first time I went through that. She also told me that Dad was sick again today…

This was about the time that Joel was in the bathroom stuck to the potty. So I hoped it was just mere coincidence. Then at about 3 found out my sister’s husband had join the rank of sick and my brother was now stuck on the toilet. At 4 Joel joined the puking ranks…..

Needless to say I am freaked out about what tonight might contain and I even made the girls choose one blanket and stuff animal and removed their comforters and gave them just fleece throw blankets because they are much easier to wash.

So I am not Thankful for PUKING but I am super Thankful for my Preggo Sister!!!

Hope!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
‘11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’

I just recently finished reading a series of books by Karen Kingsbury.  In these 14 book (I know it sounds like a lot but I want more now) she has a very common theme that everyone in and around the Baxter Family learns/ realizes throughout the books.  This verse is the leading force behind their lessons learned and it has had a huge impact on me as well, especially in this time when we are all seeing the effects of the economy and how we feel about the recent presidential election.  No matter what though this verse is the truth and our hope.

There have been so many times in the years since I accepted Jesus as my Savior that I thought that I had to have everything figured out for my future.  Little did I know or understand that I have no control but that there is already a great plan in place!  This verse has been place in my life in the last few weeks so many times because it was time for me to finally understand it.  From this verse alone the way I think of things has changed and how my faith must be the only thing that leads is clearly stamped on my heart.  If this verse is not enough to understand that no matter what happens that God has a plan for us.  A plan in which he will guide us, give us strength, and always be there.  Then I’m not sure you really get the awesomeness of God at all.  He is offering a life where fear no longer rules and faith in hope in a planned out future that one day leads to an unimaginable eternity with him. If you have no accepted this gift already then please consider it now.  Because the other reality is that we do not know when he will come back and that is not something I’m ever willing to risk!

Matthew 24:42-44 (New International Version)
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Innocence of our Children

Posted by Tina

I was early to my MOPS group a couple of weeks ago and I decided to just sit back and enjoy the peace and quite while I listened to the Radio. A great new song came on the radio and I think that everyone should see it. So here it is from YouTube:

The Lyrics are:
“Casting Crowns: Slow Fade”

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

New Job

Posted by Tina

Joel has taken a new job with a company called TrackAbout and will start with them on Nov 10th. On Monday he turned in his 2 week to RCM Technologies and they decided that they would let him go on Oct 31st since he didn’t have any work to last longer than that.

The good news is he has a full week off to hang around home.  The bad news is we are without insurance for a while, other than Cobra if we need it.  Do not worry we are going to make his week off well worth the time because we are going to do some major cleaning so he will not be bored.  We didn’t really get to a true Spring Cleaning this year so we are going to do it now.  Plus it will make the Holidays so much easier by having things already in order.

Wach out Las Vegas…

Posted by Tina

Here we come!

Well Joel and I have been doing lots of looking around to decide our 10yr anniversary location and I am about 95% sure we are going to go to Vegas. Now we are not the gambling type but there is so much more to Vegas. We want to take a day trip to the Hoover Dam and Sky Walk that over looks the Grand Canyon. We also hope to do a from Vegas helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon and many other beautiful places as well.

My parents are allowing us to trade in a week at one of their timeshares for us to use. I think we are leaning towards the Marriott Grand Chateau. We have loved the other Marriott that we have stayed at in Myrtle Beach.

I can not wait to really start planning this trip in the Spring when we can book the timeshare. It’s going to be very exciting to plan this and experience this as a couple. It will be good for all of us including the kids!

Halloween in Sept?

Posted by Tina

We just back from our last weekend of camping for this season. We had a great time and the kids came home fairly clean. We stayed at a Yogi Jellystone Park. They had a Halloween weekend where the kids got to go Trick or Treat through the campground and wear their costumes. It was fun to trial run our outfits for Halloween.  Check out the pics from the weekend at our new Picture site!!!
